Bought one of these on a whim, as i fell in love with the shape. What a great guitar for the price. Build quality is great and the tone excellent. Cannot say enough about this guitar. And the shape wow love it.

Sorry for rambling but just so impressed with this in comparison with my Fenders and Les Pauls.

Hi Jack
I own an esprit 3 too, I just love that guitar. Build quality is impeccable, the sounds great, and the shape is just awesome (btw I have an Esprit 5 too). Great guitars overall

I have an esprit 5 and just love everything about it, I always get other guitarists commenting on it's looks & tone after gigs, I'm hoping to get another if I can raise the cash, it may take me a year or so but I definitely need another for backup, I currently have a les Paul standard for backup which is a great guitar but it just feels a little odd after playing my esprit. I'd just love a white esprit with 2 humbuckers, which you don't see that often.

I've just bought an Esprit V. I'm crap at playing, but love the shape and the feel. In 30 years these guitars will be in the wild, wonderful and bloody expensive section of eBay!! Enjoy it. you deserve it!

As a side note, has anyone found an aftermarket hardcase that works for the esprit?I can't right now bring myself to paying £150 for the fret king one. Was wondering if an Explorer type case might work.

I tried an Explorer case, but that didn't seem to fit, so I had to buy the FK one. If I were you I'd send an email to Dennis Drumm at JHS. He will be able to tell you if there are other (cheaper) options.

btw, I replaced the 2 Wilkinson PAF HBs in my Esprit 5 by 2 Tonerider Rocksong HBs as I wasn't that happy with the stock PUs anymore. The guitar now is perfect for me.

Interesting. I had a gibson with P90's and I actually think the stock P90's in the Esprit sounded better.

I agree that the stock P90s in my Esprit 3 sound  great, for some reason the PAF HBs didn't suit my taste all that well.
